It is now the law that any house which is being sold or rented has to have an up-to-date BER rating certificate. John O’Sullivan is a registered BER assessor with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) and so can do this survey for you.
 
The SEAI are also providing grants for a 'before and after works' BER assessment of your house.  This means that if you are getting grant-aided improvements to your house you can also have 2 BER assessments done - one before and one after the work, in order to better measure the efficiency achieved.  John O'Sullivan can carry these out for you.

As the public become more and more aware of energy efficiency in houses, the sale value of a home will be increasingly influenced by its BER rating. Who would buy an E rated house when they know it will cost a fortune in the future to heat and run – especially if they are also looking at a C rated house in the same neighbourhood?
